As some of you might know, the latest requirements under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 come into effect this August - we’re here to provide some clarity on this situation and answer any questions you may have! If you’re wondering why you're having trouble getting ahold of your favourite e-liquid at the moment; read on!
Over the past couple of months, you may have noticed that the packaging of your favourite e-liquids, pre-filled pods and disposable vape devices has changed slightly. These changes are in accordance with the latest regulations as set out in The Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990.
From the 11th of August, all General and Specialist Vape Retailers are prohibited from selling any vaping products that do not conform with the packaging requirements as set out in this act.
In short, this means that from today onwards, all vapour products must feature a specific nicotine warning in both English and Te Reo Māori as well as an appropriate safety message and manufacturing information. Further to this, the packaging of vaping products can no longer contain imagery of foods.
Here at VAPELAB, we stock a range of premium e-liquid brands from some of the biggest manufacturers around the world. As you can probably imagine, it has been a huge undertaking for these international brands to update their packaging for the New Zealand market.
Unfortunately, this has caused a few delays in restocking a number of our products ranges however, most brands are now in the final stages of finalising and updating their packaging meaning you can expect to see your favourite e-liquids returning to our stores very soon!
Over the coming weeks we are expecting the following restocks;
- Pachamama (Freebase) - approx. 2 weeks
- Supergood Cocktail and Butter (Freebase and Salts) - approx. 2-4 weeks
- Monster Vape Labs (Freebase and Salts) - approx. 4-6 weeks
In the meantime, we’ve been expanding our range to include a bunch of new, exciting (and fully compliant!) products to fill these gaps, and keep you guys going!
