New Zealand Vaping Regulations

New Zealand Vaping Regulations

You may have heard the news that New Zealand has officially regulated the vaping industry. Don’t worry though, your experience shopping with VAPELAB in-store and online will remain the same under these new regulations.  Here is a quick rundown on what these new regulations mean for you.

Flavour-ban in non specialty stores:

With the new regulations you will no longer be able to purchase flavoured e-juices from non-specialist stores such as dairies, petrol stations, and online only stores.  To be considered a “Specialist Vape store” Vaping retailers must now meet the 70% sales threshold of vaping products. Don’t worry though, VAPELAB is classed as a specialist vape store so you can still purchase your favourite e-juice flavours from us instore and online!

Product safety standards

Product safety standards will be introduced which will mean the vaping industry must adhere to safety guidelines. The Ministry of Health now has the ability to recall products, suspend them and issue warnings; this will ensure that e-juices and hardware being sold in New Zealand are of high-standard and safe for vaping. VAPELAB sources only the highest quality e-liquid and vape devices from within NZ and overseas. We will continue to do this and abide by any new regulations put in place.

Age Restriction:

Although the vaping industry  has been self-regulating to ensure that under 18 year olds do not have access to vape products, the Government has officially made it illegal to sell to customers under the age of 18.

These laws will come into effect on the 6th of November 2020.

We will make sure to keep you updated on any new regulations and amendments that are added to the bill. VAPELAB is happy to be operating in a regulated industry where we can provide adults with an alternative to smoking.
