Understanding Pod Systems
Pod systems are a popular choice for vapers due to their simplicity and user-friendly design. These devices are generally made up of two main components: the battery and the pod.
The battery is the power source for your pod system. It features a charge port, a power button for activation, and indicator lights or a screen that show the battery's status and other useful information.
The pod is where the magic happens. It houses the coil, which heats the e-liquid, and acts as a reservoir for e-liquid.
Activate Your Pod Vape
In line with New Zealand regulatory updates, all vape devices must feature an auto-lock function that automatically deactivates the device within ten minutes of your last puff. To reactivate the device, users must perform a series of simultaneous or sequential actions.
With a wide variation of activation methods present across these NZ-compliant devices, it can sometimes be confusing learning how to activate your new vape, so we've compiled a handy guide of clear instructions on how to activate your device How To Activate Your Pod Vape
Nicotine Salts Explained
Nicotine salts are a popular type of nicotine, particularly for use in low-powered pod systems. They're available in higher nicotine strengths than traditional "freebase" nicotine, and they deliver a smoother nicotine hit. This makes them an ideal choice for many vapers, especially those looking for a more immediate and satisfying nicotine experience from their compact device.
Disposable Vape Ban
Effective June 17, 2025, the manufacture, importation, sale, and supply of disposable vapes will be prohibited in New Zealand.
This ban specifically targets vaping devices that are designed for single-use and cannot be:
- Refilled with e-liquid.
- Used with replaceable pods, cartridges, or similar containers.
- Recharged.
What is NOT affected by the ban?
Pod-style devices that utilise replaceable, pre-filled pods are not included in this ban and will remain available for purchase and use.
This regulatory change officially takes effect on June 17, 2025. For comprehensive details, please refer to the Ministry of Health’s official guidance.
Vape Battery Safety and Care Information
Prioritising Vape Battery Safety
The battery is the heart of your vaping device, and battery safety is paramount. Whether your device has a built-in or removable battery, treating it with care is crucial to prevent unnecessary stress. Improper handling can lead to serious issues such as overheating or, in rare cases, venting.
Like any rechargeable battery (think mobile phones), vape batteries are designed to be safe, but only when used and maintained correctly.
This is precisely why it is essential to purchase your vaping gear from a trusted New Zealand retailer. They can provide you with the comprehensive information and guidance needed to ensure you use your device safely and correctly.
